Candidate Qualifications

As Determined by the TW Certification Commission:

• 500 Hour State Board of Education Approved Training Program; OR
• An Associate Degree in a health-related field or a Bachelor's degree field from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 200 hours of practical experience
• Current Adult CPR & AED certifications that has a practical skills examination component (such as the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross)

Why are some diploma graduates automatically qualified by TWCC to sit for the ACPT?

500 hour personal training diploma graduates are automatically qualified by TWCC because they have completed the mandatory 500 Hour State Board of Education approved training program and 200 hours of hands-on education. The TWCC requires either a college degree or the equivalent to a 500 hour state diploma. Accordingly, a 500 hour state diploma will credential you for the same certification a four year degree will.

How much does it cost to take the TWCC ACPT?

The TWCC just announced a new, lower, testing rate of $250.00. The TWCC recognizes the current state of the economy and they do not want the high costs associated with taking an accredited exam to hinder you from taking the next step in your fitness career. The TWCC is among the least expensive and easiest certifications to maintain in the industry, while offering a top-tier certification.

When and where can the ACPT be taken?

The TWCC is contracted with Kryterion Testing Agency to provide a computerized exam at a location near you. You can schedule the exam online at a date and time of your convenience. No more waiting for TWCC to set a date!
